Sometimes you get a perfect roll

Black & White film is my favorite thing in photography. The only constant medium that I have completely adored to shoot in for the past 20+ years.
Sometimes–very, very rarely–an entire film comes out just perfect (even with, and especially due to, its imperfections) and this is one such case for me. It is an Ilford HP5 shot at box speed (iso400 EV -0.3) and developed in Kodak HC 110, dilution H for 11 minutes. The entire roll was shot with the 21mm Voigtlander Color Skopar. Here it is, almost in its entirety:

Finally re-spotted this GORGEOUS Cadillac in my neighborhood and gave it a mini photoshoot:

Always thrilled to find a half-empty plastic cup of coffee resting on my windshield:

I managed to crease the film while I was loading it onto the spool, but love how the crease came out:

final shot to finish the roll on my balcony:

What a pleasure this film was. Hopefully, the next HP5 I shoot and develop in the same exact way will come out just as good. Although, I’ve been doing this long enough to know that film development can be very unpredictable…

Also, here’s some shots from another film (Kodak TMAX 400) left over from August:

Great fun around the neighborhood with the 21mm:

thanks for sticking around to the end. Till next time!
