Visited Rhodes for 5 days for my friend Joe’s wedding with the wonderful Shelley. We had a great time (it was our first actual holiday in a long time), and were really
happy to see Joe again and get to meet Shelley, but Rhodes is not a place I would visit again. The worst side of Greek tourism has turned a place of great natural,
historical and architectural beauty into a theme park for tourists, storming in by the hundreds off the big cruise ships. The experience is like Disneyland with alcohol.
Also, I never suspected food could be SO BAD, anywhere in Greece. It was ridiculous. On the plus side I got lots of nice pictures and, after driving 400 km in 5 days,
I like to think of Rhodes as the Texas of the Dodecanese. Indeed everything is bigger there:
